Monopoly Pub Crawl

1st pub - The George - Old Kent Rd
Busing across Tower Bridge
We tried unsuccessfully yesterday to complete the Monopoly Pub Crawl.  It involves drinking at a pub on each of the roads and train stations on the Monopoly board.  In total there are 26 stops along the way.  I think we managed 8 stops then jumped a few places around the board to finish the night in Oxford and Regent St.
The Castle - Pentonville Rd
Considering it was snowing I think we did well to be walking around from 11:00am - 10:30pm. It was freezing and not ideal weather for doing a pub crawl.  There are plans to continue the crawl where we left off from in a couple of months time when hopefully the weather will be warmer.
The streets/train stations we conquered were:

  • Old Kent Rd
  • Fenchurch St Station
  • Whitechapel Rd
  • Liverpool St Station
  • The Angel Islington
  • Pentonville Rd
  • Kings Cross Station
  • Euston Rd
At this point we jumped on the tube and traveled to Oxford Circus where we had half price cocktails.  We then headed around the corner to the Slug and Lettuce for dinner & drinks which was practically on Regent St so we also considered that this stop was done.  We also quite randomly came across Vine St but as we didn't have a drink it seems unsportsmanlike to cross it off the list.  We also walked to Piccadilly Circus to tube home so again it was another stop on the monopoly board but alas we did not have a drink here either.

Despite the freezing conditions (temp was -1) it was an enjoyable day with lots of sight seeing thrown in.
